Zen Movie is proud to announce the second edition of Cinelido - Festival del Cinema Italiano,
which will take place in the exceptional setting of the Porto Turistico di Roma (Lido di Ostia) from July 14th to July 17th, 2022.



Cinelido – Festival del Cinema Italiano is a cultural event that aims to promote and showcase short films by emerging directors from all around the world.


The total prize pool of the 2022 edition is € 3.000,00.


The selection process will be curated by a specially appointed Selection Committee which will be supervised by the directors and screenwriters Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi (both members of the Academy). The judgment of the selection Committee will be final and unquestionable.


Only selected films will be screened during the nights of the Festival. Among these finalists, the Festival Jury will vote for the winners in each category.


"Altri Lidi" Section - International short films
This section is an International competition dedicated to short films produced from all over the world. This section is competitive.


"Cinelido" Section - Italian short films
This section is dedicated only to short films produced in Italy. Works produced abroad can compete in this section only if the director has Italian nationality or Italian residence. This section is competitive.


"Mediterranea" Section - Short Films from Bosnia and Herzegovina
Every year Cinelido dedicates the opening night of the Festival to a selection of short films from a particular Mediterranean Country. For the 2022 edition we’re are proud to announce Bosnia and Herzegovina as the Guest Country. This section is competitive.


Special Nights
Every year Cinelido reserves a special night to an important entity that promotes and enhances the artistic and expressive nature of short films, encouraging its diffusion both at a national and international level. The partner for the 2022 edition will be announced soon.


Awards & Prizes
The selected short films will compete for the following prizes and awards:


- Best Short Film “Cinelido” section
- Best Short Film “Altri Lidi” section
- Best Short Film “Mediterranea” section
- “Rai Cinema Channel” Award
- Best Screenplay
- Best Soundtrack
- Best Actor
- Best Actress


The total prize pool of the 2022 edition is € 3.000,00.


All of the films in every section compete for a special prize, the “Rai Cinema Channel” Award. This prize consists of a purchase agreement (web rights and public tv on Italian territory), for a total value of € 3.000,00.


The Festival reserves the right to add other prizes, both in cash and in goods; the Jury can also choose to assign possible honorable mentions or technical prizes.


The cash prizes will be granted only upon the presence of the director of the short film or another representative (producer, distributor, actors, technical cast). The Festival will provide accomodation for the representatives of the winning films in the city of Rome (conventions for board are also provided).


The selection notifications will be published on June 15th 2022 on the official website and on the Facebook page of the Festival.


Terms & Conditions


“Altri Lidi” Section - International short films
All short films produced in any country (other than Italy) can apply for this section. All films must be subtitled in English.

Short films of any genre and format produced from 2019 will be admitted. The total running time must not exceed 30 minutes.


“Cinelido” Section - Italian short films
In order to be considered for this category, the works must be produced in Italy or directed by an Italian citizen or permanent resident in Italy.


Short films of any genre and format produced from 2019 will be admitted. The total running time must not exceed 30 minutes.


“Mediterranea” Section - Short films from Bosnia and Herzegovina
In order to be considered for this category, short films must be produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All films must be subtitled in English.


Short films of any genre and format produced from 2015 will be admitted. The total running time must not exceed 30 minutes.



Submissions are open until June 8th 2022, exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform.


To regularly submit each work, a submission fee must be paid.


EARLY FEE: $ 6 - submission by March 25th 2022
REGULAR FEE: $ 12 - submission by April 25th 2022
EXTENDED FEE: $ 25 - submission by June 8th 2022


Every director can submit a maximum of three works.


The Jury will be composed by experts, students and cinema enthusiasts of any age, and it will be guided by a prominent figure from the world of cinema who will be announced right before the Festival.


General Terms
Each submitter is responsible for the content of his/her work. Participants authorize the Festival to screen their short film, share provided materials, names and addresses for all uses related to the Festival and all other non-profit collateral events. All the information provided on the participation form will be published on the Festival’s catalogue and official website.


The participant declares and guarantees that he/she is the holder of all usage rights necessary for the use of the film in the context of this agreement and that he/she is in a position to effectively grant Cinelido these rights. The participant affirms that any third parties involved in the production and distribution of the film have agreed, where necessary, to its use in the context of Cinelido as specified in this agreement. The participant guarantees that by using the film in the context of this agreement, no rights of third parties, including persons depicted in the film and music covered by copyright, are infringed.


All the personal data collected by the Festival will be treated in compliance with the Legislative Decree 196 of June 30th 2003.


The participation in the competition implies a total and unconditional acceptance of this regulation.
